Political Campaign Signs, subject to the following:

8.2.1 Signs may only be located on property which is improved with a dwelling or commercial structure.  Signs may not exceed four feet (4') in height or three (3') square feet in sign face area and shall not be illuminated. 

8.2.2 Signs shall not be attached to utility poles or trees.

8.2.3 Owners of residential property may grant permission for the placement of political signs in their yard but such signs may not be located in any portion of the street right-of-way.  In no case shalls signs protrude over paved or improved streets.  Any sign determined by the City of Helena to constitute a safety hazard shall be removed. 

8.2.4 Signs shall not be allowed in rear yards facing a public street or any righ-of-way.  Signs may not be hung from fences or any other landscaped structures. 

8.2.5 Portable, trailer and mobile signs are prohibited except signs placed in windows or the sides of motor vehicles. 

8.2.6 The candidate shall remove signs within three (3) days following the election.
