Good day to you, Library Patrons. We hope you are having a great end to your summer! Fall is upon us, and we have a Big Announcement:

  The Jane B. Holmes Public Library will have new hours of operation. As of 10/4/2010, the library will close at 7:00 PM instead of 8:00 PM on Monday and Thursday nights. Beginning on 10/4/2010, the new hours will be as follows:

Monday  10:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Tuesday  10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Wednesday   10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Thursday  10:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Friday     10:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Saturday  10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Sunday     Closed

Are you curious about Curious George? Stop by and check out out our Program on 9/16/2010 at 4:00 PM. We will read the orginal book and Feature other books and movies. Come join us as celebrate the Birthday of H.A. Rey, Author of Curious George.

Are you interested in becoming a Friend of the Jane B. Holmes Public Library?

This is a unique opportunity to meet new people, have fun at special events, and help your hometown Library. Ask for a volunteer form when you are in the library, or simply attend our next meeting on Thursday, 9/16/2010 at 6:00 PM at the library. Thanks to everyone who came to our last meeting. 

We are also looking for volunteers to help us with shelving books, checking the shelves, and various other tasks. Please call (664-8308) or see Library Director Daniel Dearing for details. We also have volunteer forms available at the circulation desk.

 We have some other great news. The Jane B. Holmes Public Library was selected by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the American Library Association (ALA) to receive free hardcover editions of 17 classic books as part of the We the People Bookshelf grant program.

 We are looking forward to this unique opportunity. Ask at the circulation desk for a bookmark that has all of the Titles listed.  

Please bring in any donations you may have. We accept books, movies, and music in good condition. Our donation program helps the library in so many ways. We want to thank everyone for their support. We have some exciting news coming soon on this front.

Do not forget to watch carefully for our younger patrons in the parking areas, entrances and exits. Just a friendly reminder. We hope to see everyone soon.
