National Library Week

NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK

An annual celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengtheningour communities.

This year’s theme, Libraries = Strong Communities, illustrates howtoday’s libraries are at the heart of our cities, towns, schools and campuses, providing critical resources, programs and expertise. They also provide apublic space where all community members, regardless of age, culture or incomelevel, can come together to connect and learn.

Library programs are designed to encourage community members to meet anddiscuss civic issues, work together using new technologies like 3D printing orlearn alongside one another in English language or technology classes. Librarystaff also partner with other civic and service organizations to activelyengage the people they serve, always striving to make sure their community’sneeds are being bet.

Join the celebration! National Library Week is an exciting opportunity for library supporters and libraries of all types to raise awareness of theirvalue and impact in their communities
